Alpha courses are organised regularly as a way of sharing our faith....

The Alpha Course ran for 10 weeks starting at the end of October and finishing just before Lent at the end of January. Each week 17 guests and 6 leaders met to enjoy a fantastic meal in the Narthex followed by a talk in the church. This was followed by small group discussions covering the Alpha topics such as “Who is Jesus”, “Why and how should I read the Bible?” and “How does God guide us?”. The group also enjoyed a full day away in Ripon with three sessions focussed on the Holy Spirit. The guests all found the course to be a relaxed enjoyable experience and many have joined a follow up group to continue their fellowship and learning together.

The course could not happen without the very considerable contribution from so many members of St Marks. The meals provided by the catering team are fantastic and their skills and dedication to the course are really appreciated by all. It was also great to see so many members of the St Marks House Groups helping each week with the washing up and clearing away. Finally the clergy and leadership team ensured that the topics were presented with enthusiasm and clarity each week.

Our new Alpha course begins on 12th January with an Alpha supper and the first week begins on Jan 19th.
