Born in Reading, Olivia has spent most of her life in Yorkshire. Completing Teacher training in Matlock, she went on to teach Geography on Teeside and in Northallerton for 13 years. Her training for the Christian ministry was undertaken at Trinity College, Bristol and was completed in 1986. Having ministered for a number of years in York, Olivia spent the last seven years in St Phillips, Hull, from where she joined us. A keen golfer, currently playing off 9, she's keen for a challenge! email:

Dan was born in Dorking in Surrey and grew up in a tiny village near Gatwick. After working as a church-based Youth and Children’s worker for 10 years in Surrey and Kent, Dan spent 2 years at Wycliffe Hall before he was ordained in 2006. A desire to see young people and their families grow to know and love Jesus drew him and his wife Julia and their 2 children ‘up north’ to St. Mark’s in August 2009. A real southerner at heart, Dan is pleasantly surprised by how beautiful North Yorkshire is and is enjoying the occasional sample of local real ale. He also enjoys watching re-runs of ‘Only Fools And Horses’ but is yet to use a clip in a sermon! email:

John is a Minister in Secular Employment (MSE) which means he is ordained but has a full-time secular job (in his case as a Quality Manager for an electronics company). Married to Sue, with three grow-up children, he admits to being a closet "BarclayJamesHarvest" fan, an armchair F1 driver and a virtual author (given that he might one day publish a best-selling novel!)
Ruth Cundy - Reader Ruth is a Reader – which means that she is licensed by the Bishop to preach and lead services. She also coordinates, and leads, some of the different music groups at church. She is enthusiastic about the visual in worship and leads a group making banners – you will often see examples at the front of church. Ruth is also a teacher and, with husband Tim, has two daughters and five grandchildren. email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
Tim is also a Reader, and as well as leading worship services he is involved with the maintenance of the building. A very amateur cellist and trombone player, you will occasionally hear him contributing to the music groups at St Marks. He has recently retired from teaching Maths but cannot understand why he hasn’t gained many hours of free time! He relaxes by walking up hills. email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Andrew Clarke - Reader ![]()
